Cresson Creative Head Chef Jennifer Laing is set to appear on National TV again!

As part of a team of three Hampshire foodies, Jennifer will do battle with two celebrity chefs on BBC2’s ‘Step Up to the Plate’, on Wednesday 10th September at 4.30pm.

Alongside Susie Carter of Hampshire Fare, and Ian Nelson from Sunnyfields Organics, Jennifer will be cooking up a three-course menu using ingredients solely grown, reared or produced in Hampshire, under the team name ‘”A Taste of Hampshire”.

The programme challenges the three chefs to devise a three-course menu that can be cooked in 25 minutes, Using the same ingredients, the team then compete to cook against professional TV chefs, Paul Rankin and Gino D’Acampo. The catch is that Gino and Paul do not know the recipes or ingredients in advance. When the time is up, the dishes are blind tasted by judge Lloyd Grossman, the original presenter of the BBC’s famous TV series, Masterchef!

To see how Jennifer and her team fares, watch ‘Step up to the Plate’ on BBC2 on Wednesday 10th September at 4.30pm. Their recipes will also be available on www.hampshirefare.co.uk together with details of the Hampshire producers you can buy the ingredients from.

Plus you can see Susie, Ian and Jennifer recreate their menu live at ‘A Thought for Food’, at Stansted Park on Friday 5th September and ‘The Food Show@Romsey’, on Saturday 13th September. Tickets for these events are available via www.athoughtforfood.co.uk and www.thefoodshow.co.uk.
