Be Spellbound by a Magical Watercress Tour!
30th May 2008
Cresson Creative will be running unique ‘Magical Watercress Tours’ to celebrate the Hampshire Food Festival, on the 8th and 15th July. The fabulous days-out promise travel to and from Alton on the historic Watercress Line Steam Railway, followed by a watercress workshop, a lunch buffet and a guided tour of Alresford’s watercress beds.
Based in the delightful Georgian town of Alresford, this full day out offers visitors the chance to really get to know this ‘superfood’ – how it grows, how it tastes and how to use it. The watercress beds around the town provide the perfect growing conditions for the crop, with the pure, mineral-rich spring waters and a mild climate. The tour will take a look at the crop’s journey, from the town’s watercress beds to finding its way into many of Cresson Creative’s unique recipes. With inspirational demos, the workshops will also offer visitors the chance to taste some of the fantastic products created!
Cresson Creative are champions of watercress, providing fresh, local, seasonal and handcrafted foods that often feature the crop in their many creative recipes. As innovators of how watercress can be integrated into today’s diets, there is no-one better placed to show visitors around the wonderful world of the crop.
Prices for the day are £28.50 for adults, £26.00 for Friends of Hampshire Fare and £17.00 for children. Price includes all transportation from Alton and lunch. Call 01962 772601 to book or for more information.
